The Age Discrimination Act of 1973 prohibits discrimination on the basis of any age
in education and is enforced by the Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights.

The 美国残疾人法案(ADA) prohibits private employers, state and local governments, employment agencies and labor unions from discriminating against qualified individuals with disabilities in job application procedures, hiring, firing, advancement, compensation, job training and other terms, conditions and privileges of employment.
Title II of the ADA also protects students with disabilities from discrimination in
educational programs.

California Education Code Section 66270 prohibits discrimination in higher education based upon sex, ethnic group identification, race, national origin, religion, color or mental or physical disability, or any basis that is contained in the prohibition of hate crimes set forth in subdivision (a) of Section 422.6 of the Penal Code.

California Fair Employment & Housing Act (FEHA)
The California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) is California's comprehensive 禁止就业歧视的法律.
FEHA provides protection from harassment or discrimination in employment because of age (40 and over), ancestry, color, creed, denial of Family and Medical Care Leave, disability (mental and physical) including HIV and AIDS, marital status, medical status, medical condition (cancer and genetic characteristics), national origin, race, religion, sex (including gender identity) and sexual orientation.

Civil Rights Acts of 1964 & 1991
Civil Rights Act of 1964
This is the landmark federal legislation that prohibits discrimination in employment and education. It covers race, color, religion, sex and national origin. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act prohibits discrimination in employment. Titles IV and VI protect students at institutions of higher education from discrimination based on race, color and national origin. Title IX prohibits discrimination in higher education on the basis of sex.

Civil Rights Act of 1991

Rehabilitation Act
The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 protects qualified individuals from being excluded from, denied the benefits of, or discriminated against because of their disability by any program or activity that receives funding or grants from the federal government.
Section 504 regulations differ between federal agencies, but they all include reasonable accommodation, program accessibility and effective communication.
Section 508 provides for individuals with disabilities to have access to electronic and information technology provided by the federal government. To be accessible, an information technology system must be able to be operated in a variety of ways.

US Executive Order 11246
U.S. Department of Labor Executive Order 11246 prohibits federal contractors from hiring discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin.
It also requires government contractors to take affirmative action to ensure that equal opportunity is provided in all aspects of their employment.
